Smocktail Hour at Artspace!
Come join us for Smocktail Hour, an alcohol-free 'craft and sip' event featuring seasonal, botanical mocktails, where participants engage with local artists and artisans for an evening of art-making, connection, and fun! Spearheaded by Katy Rugg of Petal Palate, and Heidi Rugg of Barefoot Puppet Theatre, to build community around creating art while enjoying seasonal botanical drinks in a space that celebrates local art.
Shades of Hope!
For our November 2nd event at Artspace, join sisters-in-law, Heidi and Katy, a fiber artist/puppeteer and an herbalist, for an evening of connection, reflection, herbal calm, and artmaking. We gather on the evening before the November mid-terms for a study in the purple mountains majesty.
Art-making: We will work with wool fibers, learning to blend them to unique shades as we reflect on our own Blueridge mountains. Then we will engage in some satisfying needle felting as we lift up some nourishing "smocktails" to a hopeful tomorrow.
Botanical sips: We will have tastings of drinks in beautiful shades of blue, red, and purple, with a brief explanation of their herbal benefits in this busy, cooling season - and a look at how perceptions can interplay with our experience.
Beginners and all skill levels welcome.
Your Ticket includes: All materials/art supplies, a sampling of seasonal mocktails (cash mocktail bar for more), and social time! Optional add-on starter kits for needle felting.
We offer flexible pricing of $20 to $35. Additional non-alcohol beverages, and starter kits available for purchase. Space is limited, so we encourage signing up soon!
Parking: Enjoy free, lighted parking in the Stratford Hills Shopping Center. With 140 spaces, there will be plenty of room for YOU.
About the space: Artspace is a nonprofit gallery for the visual and performing arts. This volunteer-run organization is led by its artist members and supported by community members and volunteers.
