ANIMAL (Mia di Domenico)
Animal comes from a personal inquiry into states of vulnerability, tension and inner transformation. It finds in the figure of the animal a symbolic presence through which to explore emotional and psychological dynamics. The animal becomes a metaphor for a latent force that grows, transforms and gradually emerges within the space of the image.
The project unfolds through an experimental visual language that starts from photography and extends to other ways of constructing an image. Some works are made through scans and interventions on the visual material itself. They challenge the traditional boundaries of the photographic medium and create a dialogue between image, body, material and perception.
Although it develops mainly through still images, Animal has a strong narrative element and is built in sequences. I believe this allows it to connect with the language of cinema, and with an event dedicated to the image in its many forms of expression.
As a whole, the project forms a single visual journey through the relationship between instinct, fragility and transformation. It offers a reflection on human experience that is both intimate and universal.
We make visibile what is still invisible
