High Receipts Screening
High Receipts — French Premiere
A film by Matthew Ballard
Presented by Sixteen Film Institute
Sixteen Film Institute presents the French premiere of High Receipts, a lyrical portrait of youth, friendship, and the drifting intensity of a Tokyo summer.
Set in the endless heat of the city, the film follows four teenage friends as they spend their days playing kendama, moving through small adventures, quiet pauses, and moments of fleeting freedom. As the summer unfolds, dreams, desires, and new perceptions of the world begin to surface.
Both intimate and atmospheric, High Receipts is a poetic meditation on adolescence and the seemingly insignificant moments that later come to define us.
The screening will be followed by a Q&A with the director.
