About Event

This exhibition is a love letter to the city, an homage to the moments that define its beauty (and whimsy).

Featuring ceramicist & designer Katie Ellis’s newest collection created in collaboration with architect Amanda Iglesias, these handmade porcelain pieces are inlaid with drawings from Iglesias’s sketchbook, drawn from her walks throughout the city.

Loosely inspired by traditional collector’s china, these works shift the pastoral to the urban, capturing scenes both familiar and fleeting: the park bench for weekend reads, the hot dog stand that’s always in the same spot, the side entrance to Central Park used to cut through to the museum.

Also featured is a collection of letters and poems that give voice to the exhibition’s spirit—gathered by writer Elizabeth Moore and written by fellow New Yorkers.

We invite you to raise a glass with us as we celebrate the beauty, grit, and wonder that make New York, New York.

The artist talk will begin at 7:30 PM. All pieces are available for purchase and specifically designed for holiday giving.
