HACKVAN2026 Vancouver Hackathon Testing
#HACKVAN2026 - Solving Real Problems Using Code & More in the Name of Jesus
Hosted by FaithTech - Vancouver and Indigitous.
Mission & Vision
#HACKVAN2026 exists to help redemptive organizations leverage tech to accelerate their impact.
Within 48 hours, we will design, develop, and user-test MVPs to address problems faced by these organizations.
Our Values
1. Excellence: We strive to build brilliant and beautiful tech that will be honoured even when it becomes outdated.
2. Impact: We are other-focused. We seek to have fun + advance our careers AND we are willing to put others before ourselves.
3. Hope: We face the brutal facts of reality while fully convinced we can change the world for good.
Sounds like you?
Are you curious about these projects and want to learn more? Interested in contributing by trying out the solutions?

Who We Are
Our world is filled with chaos. Many people are panicking, despairing, or simply ignoring.
We're different. We look chaos right in the eyes and proceed: building order.
We innovate. We create new products, retrofit old processes, and lead digital transformation.
#HACKVAN2026 will be the 6th hackathon we have organized. Previously, we hosted: #HACKVAN2025, #HACK2021 - Vancouver, #HACK2022 - Vancouver, #HackPoverty23, #HACKVAN2023 and #HACKVAN2024).
We come from all faith backgrounds (Muslim, atheists, New Age, and more) and are led by Christians.
Our leaders' faith means two things:
We will pray at the hackathon: inviting God into our work.
We will work with eager expectation of a world as God designed it:

FAQ
What does it mean for this event to be hosted in "the name of Jesus"?
It means we will sometimes pray and reference Christ's teachings. You can think about it as a cultural experience. See "Who We Are" for more details :)
Can I come if I am an atheist, Muslim, Sikh, or simply not a Christian?
Absolutely! In the last two hackathons we hosted, about 50% of people came from a religious background that was not Christian. E.g. Muslims, atheists, and others.
Participant: Do I need to be there the entire time?
No, you will likely finish testing within the two-hour window.
Can I bring a friend?
If wanting to participate, your friend must have a ticket (due to the size of the location and number of workstations).
If wanting to just drop by, email Gloria at hackvan@faithtech.com.
