Building the AI Safety Projects We Need
A small, working session for people who want to help build the next generation of AI Safety initiatives.
This is not a panel, a talk, or a 40-minute round of introductions. The goal is to work together: identify the most important AI Safety projects that should exist but don’t yet, and turn the strongest ideas into concrete next steps.
By the end of the evening, we aim to have:
a Top 3 list of AI Safety projects that should be built;
a clearer picture of what each project would need to get off the ground;
concrete next steps towards making them happen.
The workshop is particularly timely because several new AI initiatives are being explored and funding proposals will be developed in the coming weeks. If you are interested in helping build new AI Safety projects — through expertise, connections, funding, hands-on work, or potentially as a future co-founder — this is a good place to start.
Format: Small group, highly participatory, working session
Capacity: Limited, to keep the discussion focused and productive
I (Pia) will moderate. The intention is not to predefine participants’ roles beyond the evening: involvement can range from a one-off expert contribution to joining a project more substantially, including potentially as a co-founder where there is a strong fit.
Come with your ideas, your knowledge of the field, and a willingness to build.
- Pia
