Inside the Automation COE: How Banks Buy and Scale GenAI and RPA
Inside the Automation COE: How Banks Buy and Scale GenAI and RPA
What does it take to go from pilot to production inside a bank's operations function, and what should fintech founders know about how these decisions are made?
Banks are not short on automation ambitions. Every operations leader has a list of processes waiting to be digitized. But the gap between identifying an opportunity and delivering measurable results at scale is where most initiatives stall.
Building an Automation Center of Excellence inside a bank requires navigating internal stakeholders, regulatory guardrails, legacy system constraints, vendor selection, and change management, all while proving ROI fast enough to keep leadership support.
Join us for a practical conversation with Chetan Shah, EVP and Head of Trade, Cash, and Capital Market Operations, Projects, and Automation at a leading private sector bank. Chetan established his bank's first Automation COE and has led the delivery of RPA, GenAI, and ML solutions across trade processing, payments, and client servicing, delivering outcomes including 50% TAT reductions, significant FTE savings, and 24x7 processing enablement.
With over two decades of experience across leading private sector and global banks in India and North America, Chetan brings a practitioner's perspective on what actually works when banks adopt new technology in operations.
What we will cover
How do banks go from automation pilots to a full-scale Automation COE?
Where are GenAI and ML delivering real results in trade, payments, and capital markets operations today?
How do operations leaders evaluate and shortlist technology vendors beyond the product demo?
What does "implementable and usable" actually mean from a bank buyer's perspective?
How are operations teams being restructured as automation scales, and what does that mean for fintech founders?
The session will also touch on regulatory considerations, change management realities, and how buying decisions differ across bank functions. It will include a moderated discussion followed by live Q&A.
