Q1 Grant Research: Use AI to find, vet, and prioritize funders.
Many funders open new grant cycles in Q1. This hands-on workshop shows nonprofit teams how to use AI to do grant research faster and smarter, even if data and spreadsheets aren't your thing.
What you'll do:
Find: use AI to surface foundation, corporate, and government funders that match your mission, location, and budget size
Vet: quickly check a funder's priorities, past grantees, and typical award size using public sources like 990s
Prioritize: rank opportunities by fit, effort, and deadline so you know where to spend your time
Plan: map your top picks onto a simple 2027 grant calendar
You'll leave with:
A ranked shortlist of grants worth pursuing this year
Prompts you can reuse for every future grant search
Who it's for: executive directors, development staff, grant writers, and board members at small and mid-sized nonprofits. No AI or data experience needed.
What to bring: a laptop, your mission statement, and a basic sense of your programs and annual budget. Please don't bring donor lists or other sensitive data.
Hosted by Community Innovations Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit focused on briding the AI gap for underserved communities. Led by Dailin Hu, CEO of SafeLab AI Engineering and former Senior Applied AI Scientist at Blizzard Entertainment.
