​RocketRide × SCU Buildathon: Build It. Scale It. Get Paid.

​A collaboration between AI Collaborate at SCU and RocketRide

​Most student projects die in a GitHub repo. This week, that changes.

​Build an AI pipeline or automation that solves a real problem for a real person, publish it on RocketRide, and get someone (not your teammate, not your professor) to actually use it. If they come back a second time, you've done something most engineers never do. If they pay you, even better.

​What: A fully online, one week hackathon hosted by AI Collaborate and RocketRide. Build a working AI product, list it live, get a real user.

​When: August 31 to September 6. Submission form releases September 4.

​Where: Everything happens in our Discord. Join first: Join Discord Server

​Who: Open to every university, not just SCU. Solo entries welcome, teams up to 4.

​The bar: Not technical difficulty. The question is simple: would someone choose this over doing it themselves?

​Before you start:

• ​Join the Discord and say hi in #introductions

• ​Create a RocketRide Cloud account: https://cloud.rocketride.ai

• ​Install the RocketRide extension (VS Code, Cursor, or Windsurf)

• ​Sort out a model key (OpenAI, Anthropic, or Ollama for free)

• ​Full setup instructions are in the Handbook, linked in Discord

​Prizes: Credits Worth $1000 for winners.

​This isn't another class project. It's a permission slip to build something, put it in front of a stranger, and see if they want it.
