About Event

Happy holidays! We are back at the dome on Sunday, December 14th with a workshop by native plant expert Terry Huang.

Hyperlocal plants are plants indigenous to our specific micro-region of Laurel Canyon. They are ideally adapted to our immediate soil, climate, and pests, exceptionally low-maintenance, water-wise and most importantly, supportive of local pollinators and wildlife.

Terry plans to give us detailed guidance on the creating the best plant palette for resilient, fire-resistant landscapes. (Bring photos of your planting areas!) He will discuss many proactive steps we can take, such as ridding the canyon of highly combustible invasive species, establishing a healthier tree canopy, and best practices for starting and maintaining hydrated native plant gardens.

This one is one not to miss! Get timely inspiration with good planting period still ahead of us. “Good” is the operative word - good for us, good for the creatures who surround us, good for Laurel Canyon!
