In this workshop, we’ll learn the basics of visualizing social network data by experimenting with a tool called Gephi. Participants will learn how to use the tool to explore how information and attention moved through Twitter/X conversations about the Columbia University protests.
Dr. Ahmer Arif is an assistant professor at Barnard Computer Science Department. His research falls at the intersection of computer science and social science and is situated within the fields of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW). He studies how people use technologies like social media to spread, shape and confront disinformation and misinformation.
