From AI Skeptic to Shipping Software: A Designer’s Questionable Adventure
After being laid off, I dusted off a 14-year-old app idea and used AI to help turn it into a working product—despite not being a backend developer, database admin, QA tester, or product manager.
This will be part practical walkthrough, part interactive discussion. I’ll share the documents and workflow that kept me from pure “vibe coding,” show some of the real code and decisions behind the app, and possibly do a little live vibe coding—assuming the demo gods cooperate. We’ll also talk honestly about what this means for designers: the opportunities, the risks, and the mild existential dread.
