About Event

Surveillance systems and IoT devices were built to enhance visibility and protection, but increasingly, they are becoming pathways for intrusion, intelligence gathering, and operational disruption.

In this roundtable session, members of HTCIA, ASIS OC, and ISSA OC will come together to discuss the growing risks associated with connected devices and third-party technology providers. Anchored by recent developments involving Hikvision, the conversation will broaden to include the systemic challenges of managing trust in vendors, securing embedded systems, and responding to incidents that blur the line between cyber and physical domains.

Attendees will share perspectives from investigations, corporate security, cybersecurity, executive protection, and incident response, with a focus on real-world scenarios and actionable strategies. The goal is to move beyond awareness and into alignment, understanding how to better coordinate across disciplines when the systems designed to protect us become part of the threat.
