About Event

The need for climate adaptation is clear. What makes an adaptation solution investable—and what needs to change when capital is not reaching the businesses and communities that need it?

Join the Global Adaptation & Resilience Investment Working Group (GARI) for the launch of a new white paper developed through the Climate Adaptation Innovation Learning project. Drawing on investor convenings, case studies, and market research, the paper examines the practical conditions needed to unlock investment in adaptation, particularly in least developed countries and small island developing states.

The webinar will introduce the paper’s findings and bring together investor, enterprise, and development finance perspectives to explore four conditions for investment: credible demand and a commercial proposition; investment-ready enterprises and pipelines; capital suited to the market, business stage, and model; and an enabling market context.

Through concrete examples and discussion, we will examine where investment stalls, how public and concessional finance can address specific barriers, and what investors, entrepreneurs, and development partners can do to help adaptation solutions grow.

The Climate Adaptation Innovation Learning project is financed by the Global Environment Facility and implemented by UNIDO Climate Tech Innovation, in partnership with Climate KIC, GARI, and the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative.
