Join this free, 4-part weekly Legal Workshop series, in partnership with UC's Technology Transfer office and the UC College of Law's Entrepreneurial and Community Development Legal Clinic and the Patent and Trademark Legal Clinic which will cover the following legal fundamentals:
Thursday, Oct. 16 from 5:00-6:30pm - Legal Fundamentals for Small Businesses and Startups
This session is for early-stage founders who are in the exploratory phase of developing a small business or startup and want an overview of the types of legal documents and intellectual property considerations that should be evaluated before launching a venture.
Thursday, Oct. 23 from 5:00-6:30pm - Intellectual Property Overview
Our Technology Transfer office's AVP Geoffrey Pinski will be providing an overview of IP fundamentals and review specifically how their office reviews and supports IP disclosures from student researchers.
Thursday, Oct. 30 from 5:00-6:30pm Patent Workshop
Our College of Law's Patent and Trademark legal clinic director, Tom Humphrey, will review how founders can minimize their attorney costs through patent research and technical writing/drawing.
Thursday, Nov. 6 from 5:00-6:30pm Legal Organization and Contracts
Our College of Law's Entrepreneurial Community and Development legal clinic director, Sean Mangan will provide an overview of all the legal documents one should consider adopting before launching a business
