The BOLD Comeback | A Woman's Resilience
Often, magic is born out of the most difficult circumstances, and we believe that nothing is more powerful than a woman's resilience in this world.
Join us for an evening of comeback stories from some of Bristol's BOLDest Women - where they share their resilience journey in the hope of inspiring you to make BOLD moves in your life.
Speakers:
Amy Weidner: Founder of BOLD and Community Lead.
Amy is a UK-based creator from Ireland whose work sits at the intersection of entrepreneurship, purpose and creativity. As Founder of BOLD, Amy helps women build businesses from their personal brands. She's worked with brands like Gartner, Twitter and some leading VC funds, helping them use LinkedIn as a tool for growth. Her BOLD community is made up of 150+ members, and she's on a mission to bring more representation to the creator space. Amy had a few very challenging years before she started BOLD, which included the loss of a best friend, a failed start-up, an ADHD diagnosis and a serious illness. All of this gave her the drive and resiliency to bring BOLD to life - and she's sharing her story for the first time for this occasion.
Jo Millett: Founder of Lean Content.
Jo Millett is the founder of Lean Content, and mum of two girls (three, including her puppy, Penny). Formerly a stand-up comedian and teacher, Jo founded her content marketing agency in 2018 and grew it to work with some big international B2B brands including Hitachi, Lloyds, Informa and VoCoVo. Now in her social media era, Jo's pivoted her business to focus on LinkedIn. For this event, she'll be talking about her two biggest comebacks and what they taught her about the radical power of simply stopping when you're a woman.
Esther Umambo: Travel Consultant & Founder.
Esther-Marie Umambo is a single mother, part-time nurse and founder of Rewrite Your Journey, where she supports women to earn from travel and live life on their own terms. She is also the founder of Esther Destination Dream, a travel business rooted in helping women and busy professionals to rest and reset. Having experienced burnout, financial pressure, and self-doubt, Esther understands the reality of juggling life, motherhood, and ambition. Through her story, she empowers women to move beyond survival mode, create options for themselves, and rewrite their journey with confidence and purpose.
Celie Nigoumi: Photographer & Activist.
Celie creates impactful imagery with purposeful change-makers, founders and brands to help them celebrate their story with radical authenticity. As a mixed-heritage artist who rarely sees herself represented in her industry, Celie used to lack self-esteem and would avoid being visible in her business - until one photo of herself changed everything. For the first time, she saw the curvy side profile she grew up hating with a fresh perspective and fell back in love with herself for her unique qualities, not in spite of them. Now, Celie’s work goes beyond capturing beautiful images. Her powerful brand photography experiences support founders to see themselves in a new light, so they can show up in their business with ease, pride and self-trust.
Kirsten Butler: Founder of The Little Wedding Planner.
Born and raised in Bristol, Kirsten Butler has spent nearly two decades in the wedding industry helping couples bring their vision to life. She built her business during a time of huge personal change — launching it while going through a divorce (yes, really!), which gave her a deep understanding of resilience, reinvention, and the power of starting again.
Charlotte Horler: Founder of Nula.
Charlotte is the founder of Nula, a nature-first workplace wellbeing consultancy helping organisations prevent burnout and long-term sickness by embedding nature into everyday work culture. Over the past 12 years, her career has blended psychology, behavioural science and sustainability, working with organisations including Boots, Trainline and impact-led creative agencies to shift how workplaces approach employee wellbeing. Charlotte moved back to the UK after living in a forest protection site in south-east Kenya for three and a half years. It was the sudden disconnection from nature and the impact it had on her own mental health that sparked her mission to make nature connection an accessible, evidence-based part of how we work.
Come join us for an evening of inspiring stories, connection and BOLDness.
Everyone is welcome.
