MEET YOUR HOSTS:
Defne Kyacik has always been a globe wanderer, and through her travels, she’s learned how important connection, community, and empathy are.
She loves exploring and discovering new things, and then finding ways to bring them all together. She sees herself as a cultural alchemist, blending different experiences and ideas to create something special that brings people closer and builds meaningful relationships.
Defne grew up around long tables where people shared not just food, but all of their emotions. She curates gatherings, dinners, and experiences that bring this idea to life.
Diogo Barros Pires (b. 1985) is a figurative contemporary artist from Lisbon. Having studied Economics in the University of Lisbon and with an early training as a photographer in Prague, Barros Pires is also a former student of AR.CO, with a degree in the Advanced Course of Visual Arts. His work explores the relationship between memories, people and their environments. Spontaneously combining the collective imagery inherited by history, literature and cinema, with the transitory nature of everyday moments, Barros Pires creatively offers a dynamic mix of perspective, performance and emotionality. His work hums with a range of vibrant colour, nuanced tonal scales and a mix-media approach
Ana Romero Monteiro, brings her passion for food, design, and community to life as the founder of FoodiesLX.
A proud Lisbon native, Ana spent eight years living abroad between Prague, New York, and Geneva, experiences that deepened her appreciation for the universal power of food to connect people.
An international designer, now also a community builder, Ana channels her creative spirit into crafting memorable gatherings. She’s a proud mom to a vibrant 5-year-old, an avid ceramic collector, and blends her artistry and hospitality to create inviting spaces where stories are shared and friendships are formed, through her inviting settings.
Ana’s love for bringing people together around the table is at the heart of FoodiesLX, and she can’t wait to welcome you to this unique event.
