Mermaid Beach Craft Picnic
Leave your grown-up taste — and your need to make something “good” — on the shore for one night.
We’re heading to Coney Island to become mermaids for two hours: draw the ugliest mermaid imaginable, sculpt a giant mermaid tail together in the sand, and make a small ocean keepsake with shells, knots, and colorful fibers.
The stranger, sillier, and less “correct” your creation is, the better.
As the sun goes down, we’ll spread out picnic blankets, play music, and share coconut drinks, coconut jelly, and alcohol-free fruity sangria-style punch. You’re welcome to bring your favorite food, drink, or the half-finished craft that has been waiting on your desk.
No art experience is required. No perfect beach look is required.
A little silly, a little childish, and exactly romantic enough for a summer night by the sea.

Release your inner artist child and invent the wonderfully weird mermaid of your dreams.
🪢 Shell & Ocean-Knot Weaving
Weave a small seaside keepsake with shells, knots, and ocean-colored fibers.
🏖 Mermaid Tail in the Sand
Help shape a collaborative mermaid tail in the sand and join the group photo.
We’ll Bring
Picnic blankets and basic setup
Drawing, weaving, and mermaid-tail materials
Shells, cords, fibers, and ocean-themed craft supplies
Coconut drinks and coconut jelly
Alcohol-free fruity sangria-style punch
Music, summer light, and a little bit of silliness
Bring Your Own
You’re welcome to bring food, drinks, or any craft project you’d like to continue by the beach.
Please do not bring glass containers or alcoholic beverages.
Fireworks Note
Coney Island’s Friday Night Fireworks begin at 9:45 PM.
The official picnic ends at 9:00 PM, but you’re warmly invited to stay and watch the sky light up with us.

人鱼海边手作野餐
今晚，暂时把成年人的生活留在岸上。
我们要去 Coney Island 做两个小时的人鱼：画一条全世界最丑的人鱼，和陌生朋友一起在沙滩上堆出一条人鱼尾巴，用贝壳、绳结和海边捡到的小东西做一件可以带走的作品。
画得越笨、越怪、越不像“正确答案”，越欢迎。
日落之后，我们会铺开野餐毯，放音乐，分享椰子饮料、椰子冻和无酒精水果桑格利亚风味饮品。你可以带上自己喜欢的食物、饮料，或最近做到一半的小手工。
不需要会画画，也不需要准备一套完美的海边造型。
这是一场有点傻、有点幼稚，也刚好足够浪漫的夏夜野餐。
