QMUL Alumni & Friends Event: Elite LLMs in the Age of AI - Still Worth It?

​On the eve of Vilnius Arbitration Day 2026, Queen Mary University of London invites alumni, current and prospective students, and arbitration practitioners to an informal yet thought-provoking panel discussion exploring whether elite legal education still matters in an era increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence.

​Some of the most renowned academics and practitioners in international arbitration are coming to Lithuania for this unique occasion. The panel brings together leading voices from Queen Mary’s distinguished faculty to address this provocative topic. Through a lively, devil’s-advocate format, the speakers will offer first-hand perspectives on whether and to what extent rigorous academic training continues to open doors - and how to make the most of it.

​The conversation will touch on the real-world value of an LLM degree, how academic credentials influence hiring and arbitrator selection process at both major international and boutique firms, as well as arbitral and academic institutions. Expect candid insights, practical advice, and a few myths debunked – all in a relaxed, no-PowerPoint setting.
