Women's History Month: Collective Careers
No gatekeepers. Just us.
For Women's History Month, Ada Developers Academy in partnership with Women in Tech® Seattle (WiT Seattle) is making space to connect and build our collective careers in tech together. Ambiguity, layoffs, and slow hiring - these challenges aren't new to folks who have been shut out of tech, but that doesn't mean we have to go it alone.
What to Expect
A conversation with Cynthia Tee, former Executive Director of Ada Developers Academy and longtime technology leader, on navigating a career in tech.
Facilitated small-group discussions with guided questions provided so you can focus on concrete career strategies and genuine connection
People of all genders are invited to attend.
About our Speaker
Before becoming a CTO, Cynthia Tee led Ada Developers Academy — the tuition-free coding program right here in Seattle that trains women and gender-expansive folks for careers in tech. From 2015 to 2017, she expanded Ada's capacity and reach, helping launch Adies into jobs at Amazon, Zillow, Google, Tableau, Microsoft, Redfin, and Nordstrom, among others. From there she went on to lead engineering at Nordstrom, and eventually became CTO of Smartsheet, where she led a global engineering team. Earlier in her career she spent two decades at Microsoft shipping products most of us grew up using. She's also a long-time Ally Skills facilitator, an SVP Seattle partner, and holds an MS in Computer Science from MIT. Cynthia believes strong leaders never stop learning. She's here to share what that journey has taught her, including what it means to lead in a world being reshaped by AI.
