About Event

Southern Ontario faces a deepening housing crisis. Demand outpaces supply, and rents climb yearly, burdening lower‑income individuals and families. For those with mental health challenges, the struggle is amplified by limited access to stable housing and supportive services - often leading to cycles of homelessness and crisis.

For 50 years, Indwell has been providing supportive housing that transforms lives. Creating deeply affordable supportive housing communities that integrate mental health supports, Indwell’s model has been helping people regain stability, health, and belonging.

Join us for an in depth case study featuring one of Canada’s leading supportive housing developers, where we explore how Indwell builds and operates affordable housing for long-term financial sustainability.

Led by Nick van der Velde, the webinar will unpack examples from Indwell’s housing portfolio to examine how non-profit housing providers generate operating revenue, manage operating costs, tenant relationships, and building maintenance, and stabilize and future-proof affordable housing developments amid rising costs.

What You Will Gain

Attendees will gain practical insights into how nonprofits can think beyond a single project when planning capital, align funding strategies with mission, and navigate the complexities of community real estate development.
