Agenda: Existential Hope
Existential Hope is a nonprofit initiative of the Foresight Institute, built on a simple premise: humanity can do far better than merely survive.
Instead of debating whether the future will be good or bad, it asks what specific technologies and systems would make it genuinely great: atomically precise manufacturing, radical life extension, communication between life forms, and new models of governance. Treating them as active projects, not science fiction. 🌱
Because the media favors doom or hype, most of us never hear about these efforts or how to contribute. Existential Hope makes that work visible and actionable, bringing Foresight's legacy since 1986 in nanotech, biotech, neurotech, and AI to a new generation.
We'll hear from Beatrice, director of Existential Hope, alongside Linda, an AI researcher specializing in alignment and ethics. 🚀
