University of Staffordshire's StartUp Saturday
Welcome to the University's StartUp Saturday!
Got an idea? Or want to know what it takes to work for yourself?
Come along to this event and get free advice, support and insights from the Entrepreneurship and Business team at the University.
Join us for a day filled with exciting opportunities to learn what it takes to transform your idea into a real business. Connect with other people just like you, learn from experts and listen to advice from entrepreneurs who've successfully launched and grown.
This is open to anyone in the Stoke and Staffordshire area, as well as students, graduates and staff at the University. All you need to bring is a pen, notebook and your mind.
You'll learn:
How to spot / come up with good ideas
First steps to take to actually launching your business
All you need to know about the 'boring bits': tax, laws, compliance, insurance.
Spreading the word online - and offline!
Business planning
Where and how to get finance for your idea
Plus hear from local entrepreneurs and students just like you who have started successful businesses.
The day will be taught by expert lecturers and entrepreneurs-in-residence at the University.
Who is this for?
Everyone welcome - will be a mix of students, graduates, staff and people from the local area.
Some attendees will have an idea, some people will have launched already, and some will just want to learn more about what it takes to run your own business - there'll be something for everyone.
The workshop runs from 11am-3pm, Saturday 1st November, with a 30 min break for lunch (food available to buy onsite or bring your own)
