Cognitive Communes: Local-first agents for community living

Over the course of Embassy's "Automation for the People" residency, one of the recurring themes has been local technological sovereignty. How can advanced technologies, such as AI, be used in convivial manners to serve local communities?
Several of our fellows, as well as some of Embassy's residents, are working on projects which touch on self-hosted AI, as a way to leverage labor-saving technologies without compromising on privacy or autonomy. This showcase will feature various active projects in the residency, how they implement (or hope to implement) local-first AI, and how they intend to serve local communities.
