​Have you ever wondered how security researchers actually uncover the infrastructure behind real-world malware campaigns?

For our March meetup, PaPPy will take us inside the investigation of BossNet, a criminal command-and-control framework tied to large-scale SEO poisoning and malware activity.

This talk will walk through how the operation was discovered, how its infrastructure was mapped, how command-and-control servers were identified, and what that process looked like from a threat hunter’s perspective. Along the way, attendees will get a look at the kind of pivoting, analysis, and investigative thinking that goes into tracking malicious infrastructure in the real world.

Whether you’re a student trying to understand what threat hunting looks like outside the classroom, or a security practitioner interested in adversary infrastructure and hands-on research, this talk offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at how these operations are uncovered and studied.
