About Event

What happens when AI moves beyond the chat window and starts interacting with the world around us?

Join us for a special Physical AI & Robotics edition of the Codex Community Meetup, hosted by Dr Sam Donegan, your local Codex Ambassador. We’re bringing Melbourne’s developers, students, founders and curious builders together to explore the connection between AI, software and the physical world.

Our main speaker, Martin Kemka, is a machine-learning developer, educator and founder of Northraine, with interests spanning embodied AI and self-learning robotics. He’ll lead a practical session exploring how to move from an idea towards something that works, with room for questions and discussion along the way.

Then it’s time to build. Bring an idea, an existing project or simply your curiosity, and experiment with Codex alongside other local builders. Think robotics-inspired prototypes, simulations, computer-vision experiments or software that connects with the physical world.

All experience levels are welcome. You don’t need to be a robotics expert to join, learn and contribute.

Expect a practical speaker session, collaborative build time, and relaxed project demos. Bring your laptop and charger, meet potential collaborators, and share what you discover.

What to expect:

10:00–10:15 am — Welcome, quick introductions, and a rundown of the day.

10:15 am–1:00 pm — Build time, conversation, and collaboration. Come and go as your schedule allows.

1:00–1:45 pm — Project demos and discussion.

The workshop runs from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm. Bring your laptop and charger. You can also bring a project idea, but you do not need one to take part.

Eligible attendees who check in can receive $100 in Codex credits and $50 in OpenAI API credits.

Space may be limited, and registration requires approval. We hope to see you there! Share what you build with us!
