About Kaleido
Founded in September 2019 in Jackson Heights Queens by Manuela “Mango” Agudelo and spouse Sunny Roberts.
After graduating with a degree in Social Justice and Performance Art in June 2019 Mango hosted their first community arts event in September 2019. The following year Sunny Roberts hosted a free outdoor festival for black and brown film makers during his time at the CCNY film program.
Following the film festival in 2020 Kaleido, formerly known as Kaleidospace, organized many events with the creative partnership of artists such as Mark Saldana, Kacia, Kelly Arango and Sergio Toxqui. The creative contributions, leadership and care from each of these Queens natives has helped shape Kaleido into what it is today.
Our creative work has connected us with thousands of New Yorkers and deepened our love for our city. This year Kaleido turns 7 years old! We hope to continue sparking joy and expanding empathy with you!
In solidarity,
Mango & Sunny
Mobilizing our talents to generate resources and redistribute support to those who need it most.
