The Concept: Welcome to DA SWAMP
DA SWAMP is an ephemeral, site-specific 48-hour art exhibition exploding into the heart of Berlin-Neukölln for one weekend only in 2026. Hosted at THE FLOOR Berlin, a premier artist-run coliving and project space, this pop-up transformation fuses the raw crusty narratives of American artist Sketchy Shona with the Irish contemporary artist Niamh-Erin Cusack who are both Berlin based artists.
Presented by CounterCult, 48er Neukölln, & THE FLOOR Berlin
Stepping into DA SWAMP means entering a living, breathing landscape of chaos, comfort, and transformation. The exhibition challenges the sterile "white cube" gallery by submerging visitors into an immersive environment where organic matter meets alternative internet culture.
Exhibition Highlights & Programming
The Human Cocoon: An interactive, tactile textile installation exploring insulation, vulnerability, and spatial protection.
The Pool of Frogs: A vibrant, physical manifestation of Niamh-Erin’s exploration into amphibian life, internet folklore, and viral meme ecology.
Flash & Fine Art Tattoos: Sketchy Shona brings live art directly to skin, treating the human body as a transient, moving canvas.
Contemporary Painting & Sculpture: Large-scale multimedia works, raw mark-making, and sweeping expressive canvases hanging from the walls of THE FLOOR.
Official After-Party at Klunkerkranich
The swamp overflows onto the roof. The official DA SWAMP After-Party is hosted by legendary rooftop cultural venue Klunkerkranich in direct partnership with CounterCult Creatives and 48hr NK (48 Stunden Neukölln). Trade the swamp floor for panoramic city views, live music showcases, and deep club sets high above the Neukölln streets.
Where: Klunkerkranich Rooftop (Karl-Marx-Str. 66)
Access: Become a patron of one of the artists at THE FLOOR for guest list and a special collectible from the artists.

Shona Neary (professionally known as Sketchy Shona) is an international multidisciplinary American visual artist, street artist, and tattooist who has redefined Berlin’s raw urban aesthetic since establishing their studio here in 2020 and one of the most exciting emerging names in Berlin. Formally trained in Fine Art at the prestigious Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) in New York City, Shona has rapidly transitioned from an underground subculture icon to a highly collectible force in the international contemporary art market.
Shona’s practice explores the thresholds of human experience, shifting effortlessly from small-scale multimedia sculptures to sweeping, large-scale experiential murals and public space installations. Renowned for importing high-energy street art paste-ups and raw live painting performances into global galleries, Shona’s project history spans institutional funding from the Goethe-Institut to high-profile urban takeovers like the Teufelsberg Urban Art Gallery.
As a vital pillar of Berlin's alternative scene, founder of CounterCult, and operator of THE FLOOR Berlin artist residency, Shona treats both city architecture and human skin as traveling canvases. Cited by subculture curators as one of the multidisciplinary creators driving Berlin's modern street art scene, Shona's work in DA SWAMP bridges the gap between institutional fine art and raw, visceral street movement.
Niamh-Erin Cusack is an Irish contemporary visual artist, curator, and arts cultural manager whose cerebral, highly visual practice has positioned her as an exciting emerging name in Berlin. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BA) in Fine Art Painting & Visual Culture from the world-renowned National College of Art and Design (NCAD) in Dublin and completed advanced international studies in Art & Film Theory at the historic Bauhaus University Weimar.
Now operating at the nexus of the Berlin art scene, Cusack serves as a core member and as the studio & events manager at TURBA Factory Project space in Tempelhof. Her highly collaborative, research-driven practice bridges abstract painting, photography, public installation, and digital illustration. Cusack’s diverse portfolio ranges from vivid abstract works influenced by light, colour and astronomy to her recent celebrated series exploring meme culture, internet folklore, illustration and amphibians.
Her work has been showcased widely across international residencies and galleries, including here in Neukölln, LiTE-HAUS Galerie + Projektraum, Backhaus Projects and ReTramp. Recognized by international curators for her unique ability to map digital sociology onto physical canvas, Cusack is rapidly gaining traction as a defining voice and is known for her illustrative amphibians. For DA SWAMP, she blends organic forms with bright, chaotic mark-making, creating a visual ecology where nature meets urban spontaneity.
