AI can now write, test and ship most of the code. So what's left for the engineers, and what happens to the teams around them? This edition looks past the tooling and at the people: how we think, how we hire, and how we keep quality up when the agents do the typing.
This edition is sponsored by Apex Lab.
"Win the Game." - What a poker bot hackathon taught us about engineering after AI by Kristóf - Head of AI @ Apex Lab
At a recent hackathon, a team with zero coding experience typed two words into Claude, "Win the game," and beat three teams of engineers. Kristóf uses that result as a lens on how AI is rewiring the way we think, code and build: when a simple prompt is enough, why AI hands everyone the same answer, and why the edge still comes from human strategy.
Software's Three-Body Problem: Quality, Hiring and the Shrinking Team by Ákos - Head of Engineering @ Apex Lab
As agents write and test most of the code, three things start pulling on each other: quality assurance gets harder, the usual hiring signals stop working, and teams shrink into fewer leads and more builders. Fix one and the other two get worse. Ákos will share what his team is trying right now, and wants to hear how you deal with the same problems day to day.

What is szegedsync?
Szeged has an incredibly deep tech talent pool. The problem is that people rarely meet outside of work. We're working to change that. We're building a community of tech enthusiasts and professionals who care about the latest trends and technologies. We're focused on getting the best speakers and topics to make it worth attending. If you're interested, join our community. We don't just organize events, our goal is to build a community and support companies and non-profit organizations that share the same mission: enriching the city with exciting meetups and events.
