Going Deeper with Claude for Accounting Firms
By now, you have probably heard about Anthropic’s Claude and its growing role across the accounting software ecosystem. But most firms are still only scratching the surface of what it can do.
This practical workshop will show what becomes possible when Claude is connected directly to an accounting system designed for AI.
We will cover the foundations, including what Claude Skills are and when to use Chat versus Cowork, before moving into live, end-to-end demonstrations of more advanced workflows. These will include automating multi-step GST processes, working across multiple systems, and connecting accounting data directly to tax forms.
At the centre of the session is a simple idea: MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is becoming the new API.
Instead of waiting months or years for software vendors to build the integration your firm needs, you can describe the workflow you want, give Claude access to the right systems, and allow it to coordinate the process.

Nick will cover the Claude basics, including when to use Chat versus Co-work, what Skills are, and how MCP servers work. He will then introduce Prosaic and demonstrate what is possible when Claude is paired with an AI-native general ledger built for accounting firms.
Ed Hayes - Founder of Tipu Resourcing
Ed will demo how he built a multi-step workflow in Claude Code between different systems to automate managed GST returns.
Allen Knight - Co-founder and CEO of TaxLab
Allen will show how to seamlessly populate tax returns from ledgers and other data sources, and use AI-assisted review to help manage tax risks and identify tax opportunities
