About Event

Join Ocean Conservancy for Reel Talk: The Truth About Ocean Biodiversity and Climate.

Presented at DC Climate Week.

The ocean is our planet’s support system. It produces half the world’s oxygen, absorbs 90% of the excess heat from climate change and sustains millions of species and billions of people. Yet, its story is often left out of the climate conversation.

Let’s change that.

Join us for Reel Talk, a lively conversation exploring how ocean health, biodiversity, and climate change are deeply connected, featuring expert insights and real-world perspectives from those experiencing these changes firsthand.

We want to hear from you! Help us shape the conversation by submitting your questions in your registration form.

Stick around after the talk for drinks and appetizers with the panelists and fellow ocean and climate enthusiasts.

Panelists:

  • Dr. Fatima Candace Vahlsing, Ocean Conservancy’s Vice President for Climate and former White House Associate Director for Climate, Energy, Environment, and Science

  • Meredith Moore, Senior Director of Fish Conservation at Ocean Conservancy

  • Stormy "Stormbird" Hayden, Tuutalik Water Keepers

  • Moderator: Kasha Patel, Science Reporter, Former Washington Post Climate Reporter
