Intro to Sailing & Liveaboard Life Vol. 1 | Field Trip to Ashbridges Bay Yacht Club
Have you ever wanted to sail, live on a sailboat, or travel the world by sea, but had no idea how to start?
Did you know you can sail all summer for free by crewing on other people’s boats?
Did you know that living on a sailboat can cost less than renting a condo in Toronto?
We live beside one of the largest bodies of freshwater in the world, where you can see the horizon over the lake, yet many in the city remain disconnected from the water. This series is about changing that and reconnecting people to the lake, sailing culture, adventure, nature, and a different pace of life.
Sailing can also be deeply meditative. Wind, waves, weather, and movement naturally pull us into presence and flow state while grounding us in both nature and ourselves.
Join us for a field trip to our lake. We’ll explore sailboats, talk about how people actually get started, and demystify the path into sailing, crewing, racing, living aboard, and travelling the world.
Rain or shine, fair winds or none, we’ll do our best to get out on the water. If conditions don’t cooperate, we’ll still enjoy the sailboat as a floating cottage, the docks, marina, and clubhouse together.
No experience needed. Curiosity is enough.
No obligation, but feel free to bring non-alcoholic drinks and snacks to share.
This is the first in an ongoing series, so there will be more opportunities ahead if this one fills up.
