"What Is the Platform Team For When Everyone Has an Agent?"
How AI changes platform users, interfaces, and the platform value proposition.
AI weakens one traditional justification for platform teams: "every team should not have to build this themselves." It strengthens the other: "every team should not have to operate, secure, understand, and evolve its own version." At the same time, agents increasingly sit between developers and platforms, so platform interfaces must become legible and usable by machines as well as people.
Then we will have Julianne Hickey
With experience leading large AI transformation programs across central government, Big4, councils and many more (including representing New Zealand at an AI Conference at the Vatican, and being the NZ spokeperson for Pope Leo's encyclical on AI!).
Julianne will explore the lessons, questions, and observations from implementing AI at scale across public, private, and for purpose sectors.
We will have a State of AI employment from our pizza partner Younity, where Joel from their team will give a 101 on what they are seeing across the hiring market.
Then the final piece will be a mini showcase of 3-4 innovations from some of the young talent at the university.
