CAPYBARAS in the Folk's House
Join us for a warm gathering of musicians, artists, friends, and music lovers — with two live performances, an open music jam, DJ, food & drinks, and, for those who aren’t ready to call it a night, a late-night basement jam & afterparty.
Exact address? Will be sent to you.
The evening’s musical journey begins in the western mountains of Iran and gradually makes its way to the other side of the world: CAPYBARAs will be in the house.
Doors open at 4 PM. Come early, settle in, meet people, grab some food.
Around 5 PM, we’ll hear Mahrang, performing Tanbour music — a tradition rooted in Kurdish spiritual gatherings that has travelled across Iran and helped inspire new expressions of what is often described internationally as Sufi music.
Then, around 7 PM, CAPYBARAS take the stage, bringing their infectious mix of music from Brazil, Latin America, and beyond. Yon’t want to miss it.
And yes, there will be food: shrimp bobó and lasagna — meat & veggie options. Come early if you want some, because once it’s gone, it’s gone!
After the performances, the night opens up into music, dancing, DJ, jamming, drinks, and hanging out.
The main party winds down around 11 PM, but if you’re still feeling it, stay with us for a more intimate basement jam & afterparty.
What to bring?
Yourself, your friends, and an instrument if you feel like joining the jam after the shows.
Your donations help the Folk's House do more of this.
Come ready to dance, sing, play, chill, eat, drink, connect, and love.
