Trust & Build with AI for Queer Good

AI is everywhere now — but for many of us, it still feels confusing, intimidating, overhyped, or simply not made with people like us in mind.

Queer Eyes for AI is a casual, community-first session for queers and allies who want to understand AI better, trust it more thoughtfully, and explore what it means to build with it.

No technical background required. You do not need to code. You do not need to work in tech. You just need to be curious.

This is not a typical AI event. It is a sharing session, fireside chat, Q&A, and networking night hosted in a queer bar, bringing together queer builders, AI enthusiasts, AI-curious folks, creatives, founders, and allies.

*A percentage of bar sales will benefit the Pink Dot fundraising initiative.

Who this is for

This event is for you if:

  • You are queer or an ally and curious about AI.

  • You want to use AI but are unsure what to trust.

  • You have an idea, project, creative practice, business, community initiative, or side hustle and want to know how AI might help.

  • You are interested in what queer builders are making with AI.

  • You want to meet other AI-curious people in a more relaxed, social, less intimidating space.

  • No technical background is required.

What we’ll talk about

We’ll keep the session accessible, practical, and human.

Together, we’ll explore:

  • Why and how you can trust AI
What does “trusting AI” actually mean? How do we use AI without falling for hype, misinformation, or lazy automation?

  • What queer builders are building with AI
From community tools to creative products, we’ll look at how queer people are using AI to build things that are personal, useful, strange, joyful, and necessary.

  • How queer builders juggle identity, work, creativity, and risk
How do we build publicly when our identities are complicated? How do we navigate visibility, safety, ambition, and community responsibility?

  • How to start building, even if you’re not technical
AI has made it easier to prototype ideas, test concepts, and create tools without needing to be a traditional engineer.

Featured builders & speakers

Azfar Anwar
Founder of queerimam.ai, an AI platform built for queer Muslims navigating faith, identity, safety, and belonging. Azfar works at the intersection of AI, trust and safety, policy, community, and implementation. He will share how he built queerimam.ai, what “trust by design” means in practice, and why queer communities should not be left out of the AI conversation.

Donald Piret
A software engineer at Stripe and AI-native builder who has been experimenting with creative AI tools, including a vibe-coded DJ product. Donald will share what it means to build playfully and practically with AI, and how AI can help queer builders move from idea to prototype faster.

Simon Grimm (Q&A Moderator)

Simon Grimm is a German-qualified lawyer with experience at the European Commission and the German Mission to the United Nations. He holds an LL.M. in Law and Technology from Singapore Management University, where he focused on the legal and ethical implications of artificial intelligence.

Featured allies from Claude Singapore:

Freddy Lim

Before ClaudeSG, Freddy founded Web3 Singapore, organised the 1,000+ person SuperConnect event during TOKEN2049, and won first place at the inaugural Anthropic × Temasek Hackathon. He is also working to expand AI access through partnerships with underserved communities and initiatives supporting Southeast Asian AI builders.

At Queer Eyes for AI, Freddy will help open the evening with a practical introduction to where people can start with AI and why community matters in making the technology more accessible.

Trina Chin

With a background spanning UI/UX, data governance, and operational systems, Trina focuses on helping organisations build trust, accountability, and responsible practices around technology. Through her work with ClaudeSG, Trina supports AI education and community learning, while advocating for greater representation of women in technology and AI. She believes diverse voices are essential to shaping more inclusive, equitable, and impactful AI systems for the future.

At Queer Eyes for AI, Trina will bring a grounded perspective on how everyday users can think about AI more thoughtfully: what to trust, what to question, and how to use AI with greater confidence and care.
