INTENT Seminar 2027
Join us in Lisbon on 10–11 February 2027 for the Final Seminar of the INTENT – Intelligent health monitoring of road infrastructures using bender elements embedded in pavements research project.
INTENT brings together expertise in pavement engineering, geotechnics, sensing technologies, structural health monitoring, numerical modelling and data-driven methods to explore new approaches for continuously assessing the condition of road infrastructure. At the heart of the project is the development of embedded sensing solutions based on bender element technology, designed to monitor changes in the dynamic stiffness of unbound pavement layers throughout construction and service life. These measurements are combined with conventional sensors, advanced numerical models and machine-learning approaches to support damage detection, deterioration prognosis and more timely maintenance decisions.
The seminar will bring together project researchers, consultants, collaborators and invited experts to present the main scientific and technological outcomes of INTENT, discuss lessons learned during the project, and explore future directions for intelligent and sustainable infrastructure monitoring.
The programme will include keynote lectures, presentations from project researchers and invited contributions, covering topics related to structural and pavement health monitoring, smart sensing, computational modelling, data analysis and the future of infrastructure asset management.
The event is free of charge and open to participants beyond the INTENT consortium. It will be organised in a hybrid format, allowing participation either in person at Lusófona University, Lisbon, or online.
