CSC Workshop – Creating Complex Sonic Textures with Feedback Circuits

​Participate in making a multi-person analog feedback instrument! Each person will create a simple feedback circuit capable of playing single pitches, but when connected with the circuits of the other participants, the resulting sonic behaviors become progressively more complex and unpredictable. All materials are provided, and no prior experience is required.

​Miles Scharff is an MFA candidate for Columbia’s Sound Art program and a Teaching Assistant in Barnard’s Computer Science Program. He is a sound artist and musician whose work spans improvisation, spatial audio, and sound sculpture.
