Rethinking Tradition and Modernity through Inter-Religious Encounter: Insights from Argentina, Ghana, and India
This research symposium brings together scholars from the Global South to explore the complex interactions between tradition, modernity, and religion in diverse cultural contexts. Focusing on Argentina, Ghana, and India, the event will examine how religious dialogue and practices contribute to redefining the concepts of tradition and modernity in these regions.
The symposium features presentations by Visiting Fellows from the Global South and includes a documentary screening, a reading group session, and a drinks reception. It is an interdisciplinary event that offers valuable insights into inter-religious encounters and their impact on shaping cultural and societal narratives.
Organised by CRASSH, in partnership with the Faculty of Divinity, and the Cambridge Interfaith Programme.
The event will be filmed and pictures will be taken. Photos may be used on CRASSH's website and social media. If you do not wish to be recorded or photographed please let the event organisers know by emailing [email protected].
