About Green Drinks:
San Diego Green Drinks (SDGD) is a monthly networking group for professionals or individuals interested in the sustainability field. We typically meet on the third Thursday of each month at a local bar to discuss different environmental issues with a speaker followed by open networking. These events are casual, drinking is optional, and anyone interested is encouraged to attend.

About Earth Discovery Institute:
Earth Discovery Institute (EDI) works closely with East County communities to connect people to nature, restore critical habitats, and protect threatened species. Through hands-on education programs and science-based conservation efforts, EDI works to ensure San Diego’s unique ecosystems are protected and accessible to all.

About our speakers:

Ashley Ersepke, Education Director

Ashley has been with EDI since 2022 as a field instructor and education coordinator. She has a background in ecology and evolutionary biology from UC Santa Cruz, and science illustration from CSU Monterey Bay. Ashley has lived in San Diego for the past 4 years and has loved becoming familiar with the many plant and animal species found here and getting to teach kids about them too. "It has been such a joyous experience working with kids and being a facilitator to connect them with the magic of nature. I love being able to bring in my science and art background as a field instructor to show my students how to look at animals and plants with an artistic eye while also thinking like a scientist. I've learned so much from working with these kids, and they are some of the brightest, funniest, and most creative people I know!"

Ida Kaller-Vincent, Executive Director

Ida is a marine and wildlife biologist with over 19 years of experience dedicated to the preservation of endangered and threatened species and their habitats. Her work spans the nonprofit, government, academic, and consulting sectors across multiple countries, where she has led conservation research expeditions, managed restoration projects, and engaged community scientists in field research and wildlife conservation.

She specializes in implementing a comprehensive, multi-species approach to conservation aimed at protecting biodiversity. A central focus of her work is collaborating with local communities to develop sustainable solutions that align conservation efforts with community needs and socio-economic considerations, supporting equitable participation and long-term stewardship.
