Dialogue on CSOs‘ Roles in Promoting Climate Resilience and Just Transition in Asia and the Pacific
Hosts: C Team, Thailand Environmental Institute
Language: Thai and Chinese
The dialogue will be co-organized by C Team and Thailand Environmental Institute, supported by China Association of NGO Cooperation and Just Transition Incubator. It will address the alarming regression in climate action progress (SDG 13) in the Asia-Pacific region, which is driven by its vulnerability to disasters and continued greenhouse gas emissions. It will explore the unique roles of CSOs in promoting climate resilience and just transition, as well as the challenges and opportunities they face. The participating CSOs include not only climate and environmental organizations but also foundations and grassroots groups serving communities or underprivileged population s. These organizations are from China and Thailand. They will share their current status, feasible practices, and insights on how to integrate the promotion of climate resilience and just transition into their organizational strategies. It is expected that the dialogue will result in a set of concrete action suggestions for relevant CSOs to better engage their stakeholders.
