About Event

Basilica Bio invites you to join us for a hands-on guerrilla gardening workshop in the heart of Seattle. Guerrilla gardening is a joyful form of ecological activism that began in the 1970s, when communities transformed abandoned and polluted urban spaces into vibrant gardens. Today, the practice continues as a way to reclaim land, build resilience, and sow justice.

At this workshop, we’ll gather at Meridian Playground to learn about the history and practice of guerrilla gardening, then get our hands a little dirty making seed bombs, small clay balls packed with native seeds and bioremediators. These humble tools are designed to bring life back to forgotten corners of the city, turning neglected ground into pockets of biodiversity.

All materials will be provided, and you’ll leave with seed bombs you can plant across King County, an act of nonviolent, generative sabotage that helps restore our shared environment.
