Robot Actuators Workshop

​Let’s do a workshop on robot actuators!

​It just so happens that I have a number of various motors and motor controllers: from tiny RC servos to humanoid joint grade motors.

​So, we will discuss robot actuators selection and intergration, I will demo motor controllers, and you will have a chance to control the motors yourself.

​Specifically, we will look at:

• ​RC sevos (PWM and serial), with Hiwonder controllers

• ​drone BLDCs (controleld with drone FC/ESC)

• ​GM3506 gimbal motor

• ​GIM3510 planetary gear motor

• ​ODrive, Tinymovr, CubeMars FOC controllers

• ​Examples of several integrated motors (CubeMars AK, AKA, AKE sereies)

​Even if you have worked with motor control before, there might be something new for you. If you are not familiar with robotic actuators, it’s a chance to get a good overview.

• ​Event will he held at Põhjala Tehas (Stuudiomaja).

• ​Please bring with you:

  • ​Laptop

  • ​Safety goggles

  • ​USB hub; USB-C, USB-A extension cords

  • ​Lab power supply (optional, if you want to test motor controllers yourself)
