​What is AI, really? Is it a mystical force, or just a sophisticated set of algorithms? Before we discuss super-intelligence or job displacement, we first need a shared, grounded understanding of the technology.

​In this session, we’ll tackle the big questions - addressing the hype, the fears, and the sensationalism - to give you a clear, nuanced view of modern AI. All concepts will be broken down into simple, easy-to-understand terms. We will trace AI’s journey from foundational concepts to today’s powerful systems.

​More importantly, we will explore the practical and ethical side: How does AI fundamentally work, and what are the crucial ethical considerations and biases we, as women in tech, must take into account when building and deploying AI tools? This session will equip you with the knowledge to build responsibly and influence the narrative.
