Chiefs of Staff are often asked to interpret people-ops decisions without a formal HR background. In this friendly, non-technical fireside, Anthony will walk through an underwriting and renewal example, explaining the key inputs underwriting teams review (payroll by job class, class rates, experience modifier, claims history, state rules, payroll frequency, and participation or utilization assumptions). He’ll show how those inputs map to premiums and employer costs, surface common multi-state issues such as pay-frequency and registration requirements, and highlight high-risk job types (office, warehouse, drivers, construction, hazmat) so you know what questions to bring back to your CFO, vendor, or HRBP. He will not underwrite accounts on the spot; this session focuses on understanding the numbers you receive and what they mean. The majority of the session will be audience Q&A and office hours.
