Creative Futures Africa: Beyond the Summit
Creative Futures Africa is a platform that champions Africa’s creative economy as a driver of opportunity, cultural expression and inclusive growth. For Design Week in Johannesburg, Creative Futures Africa moves beyond the Summit and into the creative community.
In September, the 2026 Creative Futures Africa Summit brought together voices from the creative economy, finance, technology, policy, climate and city-making to ask how creativity can drive Africa’s next chapter.
This Design Week conversation brings the Summit’s key insights and provocations directly to creative practitioners, creating space to test the ideas, add new perspectives and shape what comes next. Expect a frank look at funding creative work, the intermediaries who hold ecosystems together, new technology, creative cities and who owns the data, followed by an open floor.
It’s about widening the conversation, and making sure the people building Africa’s creative economy are part of defining its future.
Presented by Jozi My Jozi and Business and Arts South Africa (BASA), in partnership with IQOQO and BBA Liminal. Venue partner: Keyes Art Mile.
