จากการใช้ประสาทสัมผัสของตนเอง เราทุกคนล้วนมีประสบการณ์ตรงที่รับความรู้สึกได้ว่ากรุงเทพฯ ไม่เหมือนเดิม หากแต่มันกำลังเผชิญกับความเสี่ยงทางด้านสภาพภูมิอากาศหลายด้านที่รุมเร้า ทำให้ผู้อยู่อาศัยในกรุงเทพฯ ต้องใช้ความอดทนมากขึ้น ทั้งจากเกาะความร้อนที่รุนแรงขึ้น รูปแบบการตกของฝนเปลี่ยนไป น้ำท่วมถี่ขึ้น ปัญหาฝุ่นละออง หลายคนพยายามจะอยู่เท่าที่จำเป็น แต่ก็ยังมีผู้คนอีกจำนวนมากที่ไม่อาจจะเคลื่อนย้ายตนเองออกจากพื้นที่ปัญหาได้ดังใจนึก
เมืองจะเย็นลงได้อย่างไร จะปรับตัวอย่างไรให้ยืดหยุ่นต่อสภาพภูมิอากาศมากขึ้น สิ่งแวดล้อมทางธรรมชาติจะถูกปรับใช้เป็นฐานของการออกแบบภูมิทัศน์เมืองอย่างไร วัฒนธรรมของชุมชนเมืองจะมีบทบาทในเชิงบวกและมีส่วนร่วมในการสร้างความยืดหยุ่นได้หรือไม่อย่างไร หากกรุงเทพฯ จะต้องจมน้ำ เราควรจะจินตนาการถึงระบบนิเวศในเมืองกรุงเทพมหานครในอนาคตกันอย่างไร เวทีเสวนานี้ชวนทุกท่านร่วมสำรวจคำถามเหล่านี้ไปพร้อมกับนักผังเมือง นักออกแบบพื้นที่สีเขียวอย่างมีส่วนร่วม และภูมิสถาปนิก

By using our own senses, we can all feel that Bangkok is no longer the same. The city is now facing many pressing climate risks that make life harder for its residents—hotter heat islands, changing rainfall patterns, more frequent floods, and worsening air pollution. Some people try to stay only as much as they must, while many others simply do not have the option to leave the problem behind.
So, how can we make the city cooler? How can we adapt to be more resilient to climate change? How can we draw on the natural environment as a foundation for urban landscape design? Can urban culture play a positive and active role in building resilience? And if Bangkok is eventually to sink, how might we imagine the city’s future ecosystem? This conversation invites you to explore these questions together with urban planners, participatory green-space designers, and landscape architects.
