[July 2026] Monthly NYC Tech Poker Night!
Updates first…
If you are interested in playing at the dealer table, please Venmo me $25 for the dealer cover PLUS your buy-in (minimum of $100 / maximum of $300) @JacksonFeder to secure your spot. Please write "Dinner" in the memo. I will be taking the first nine names to Venmo me. If you are not one of the first nine, you will be added to a waitlist for this table. Some dealer table highlights below:
Professional dealer
Cash game
Max of 10 players
$25 cover to play (for dealer, not me)
$1 / $3 blinds
$100/$300 min/max initial buy-in (unlimited rebuys up to big stack at any one time)
after every monochrome flop (3 cards with same suit), the next hand is a $5 bomb pot
there is also a $5 bomb pot (usually double board PLO) every 30 minutes
72o game is on (winner receives $5 from each player)
button straddles are allowed (minimum $15)
when the table is in agreement on winding down the game, the # on the middle card of next flop is how many more hands we will play before ending the game (face cards = 11, 12, 13 ace = 1)
if you are planning to leave, the rule is that you announce it and stay a minimum of one more table orbit (note that the game typically runs for 3.5 - 4 hrs)
Important: There will still be the usual set up and other tables with games, so don't worry if you're not signed up for this game or don't want to be. We're expecting a big turnout and there will be plenty of other folks to mingle and/or play with.
Also important: Poker games are tough to organize and flaking ruins the experience for everyone else, so please don't flake! Unless there are real extenuating circumstance (e.g., you have COVID), cancelling will result in your cover and/or buy-in getting added to the pot.
Now, the usual reminders and housekeeping... 👇
Please remember to RSVP to the invite whether you plan to attend or not — I'll be removing folks who continually don't respond (you can also just let me know if this isn't your thing, and I'll remove you). This allows us to get an accurate headcount for food/drinks and makes managing the game size a lot easier. If you're a maybe, that's fine, just respond accordingly. TY to the many folks who have already done this.
If you are planning to attend and not play at the dealer table, please Venmo me $20 for buy-ins @JacksonFeder. Please write "Dinner" in the memo. If you have signed up for the dealer table, you can ignore this.
When: First Thursday of every month at 7pm (please show up 10-15 minutes early if possible, we usually try to get started by ~7:15pm latest)
What: Classic Texas hold 'em, food/drinks, and good company!
If you need to reach me for any reason, feel free to text/call at (310) 487-2146.
