Join us to be the main volunteer crew for Free Store in the Park!
Hosted by Community Loving, this event brings together neighbors, organizations, and mutual aid groups to share resources, connect, and build a stronger, more supportive network across the South Bay.
Volunteer Opportunities:
STORAGE UNIT CREW (MORNING)
⏰ Time: 10:00am - 10:45am
📍 Location: Storage Unit - 3155 W. El Segundo Blvd., Hawthorne, CA 90250
• Meet at the Storage Unit
• Load all donations and supplies into U-Haul Truck
• Head to Alondra Park
SET-UP CREW
⏰ Time: 11:00am - 12:30pm
📍Alondra Park 3850 Manhattan Beach Blvd. Lanwdale, CA 90260
• Unload U-Haul
• Set up tents, tables, item booths, clothing racks, etc.
• Neatly organize and display the free store items to be inviting and easy to browse.
EVENT CREW
⏰ Time: 12:30pm - 3:00pm
📍Alondra Park 3850 Manhattan Beach Blvd. Lanwdale, CA
• Check in / Check Out (2 Volunteers)
• Photographer / Videographer (1 Volunteer)
• Arts & Crafts Lead (1 Volunteer)
• Food Donation Booth (2 Volunteers)
• Free Diaper & Wipes Booth (2 Volunteers)
• Free Store Helpers (2+ Volunteers)
• Sorting Area Crew (1+ Volunteers)
CLEAN-UP CREW
⏰ Time: 2:15pm - 3:15pm
📍Alondra Park 3850 Manhattan Beach Blvd. Lanwdale, CA
• Pack up clothing back into bags
• Fold tents, tables
• Pack up items into boxes
• Load U-Haul
• Take away bags of trash
• Tidy up area (remove litter)
STORAGE UNIT CREW (AFTERNOON)
⏰ Time: 3:25pm - 4:00pm
📍 Location: Storage Unit - 3155 W. El Segundo Blvd., Hawthorne, CA 90250
• Unload U-Haul
• Cart or carry boxes/bags/racks/etc. up to unit
• Arrange equipment in unit
As a volunteer-ran organization volunteers get first priority to browse and shop the Free Store before it opens to the public.
