Curious how venture capital actually works? This open session, part of the Roots industry series, is for anyone in Columbia and at Main Street Summit who wants a clear, jargon-free look at VC: what it is, how firms operate, and what it takes to build one here in mid-Missouri.
Sakib Jamal, author of The Young VC Handbook, will share what he's learned about breaking into and working in venture. Willy Schlacks (cofounder of EquipmentShare and Redbud VC) and Brett Calhoun (Redbud VC) will talk about building an early-stage fund from Columbia, MO. No experience or background required.
