About Event

Join us on Sunday, March 23 from 3 to 5 p.m. for a POETRY READING & RECEPTION featuring KETU OLADUWA on his Octogenarian Tour! Poetry discovered Kétu while on death row for a murder he did not commit. There he calibrated his Afrikan identity & wrote himself anew. Learn more about Kétu at Rootfolkz Poetz Press.

We're delighted to announce that Wren Tuatha and Michael Rhynes will also be joining us for the event, along with Cornell University students!

Poet, collagist, teacher, and screenwriter WREN TUATHA is the author of Thistle and Brilliant (Finishing Line Press), the founding director of the Ithaca Poetry Center, editor at Califragile, a journal of social justice and climate change, as well as a reader at Clockhouse.

MICHAEL RHYNES was wrongfully incarcerated in New York State for 39 years and was exonerated in 2023. While in prison he published poetry including a chapbook entitled "Guerillas in the Mist" and started a theatre troupe. He brings his wealth of lived experience to discussions of incarceration, re-entry, and criminal justice to his program The Undiscovered Country: Voices Over the Wall on WRFI Community Radio which features the voices of imprisoned poets.

Prisoner Express poetry will also be shared along with FREE coffee, tea, and cookies. 🍪☕

Location: 130 Anabel Taylor Hall, Cornell University. We're on the other end of the law school & there's FREE PARKING on weekends, which makes it easier to get to us.
